Marked every year on the 19th of Ramadan, the UAE dedicates Zayed Humanitarian Work Day to remembering the charity, achievements and good reputation of the late ruler, Sheikh Zayed, who exuded throughout his time as Ruler of the UAE, from its independence in 1971 through to his death in 2004.
